Did you know that there are nicknames for those who attend church on holidays only – “CEOs” (Christmas/Easter/Only) The other nickname is “Chreasters” –
But I have another name…”LMPs” – Loved. Missed. Prayed for.
You attended church on Easter Sunday? Wonderful! I’ve missed you. Maybe it has been a while. Maybe you were even a little nervous about coming back to church thinking, “It’s been a while. Are people going to judge me? I can’t believe I’ve let so much time go by. I kind of feel like a hypocrite…” But you came anyway. I’m so glad you did. I really have missed you. Today is a good day to think ahead to this coming Sunday.
Actually, as I write this, it is April 1st – the infamous “April Fool’s Day.” So, today is an appropriate day to consider that the true fool is the one who takes lightly the obvious, great, and amazing gift of love and salvation from the King of kings, Lord of lords, Creator of the universe!
Attending church occasionally is taking that gift lightly. How foolish to squander the joy, love, and healing awaiting you in fellowship with other believers. He didn’t take His love for you lightly – He gave it all. You know this. So…
…today is a good day to rethink how you love Him in return. Do, what He’s asked. Be in fellowship. Serve and glorify Him. Love and be in community with His church. Show your love – a heart overflowing with gratitude for what He has accomplished and given you.
Begin again this week and be a committed part of your local church – not online, not on occasion – in person, in fellowship, in love and thankfulness to the God who loves you so much! You have been missed. You are prayed for and longed for.
So much is happening in the fellowship of the local church. I challenge and encourage you…actually, in love, I strongly exhort you to come back. Rethink your schedule, your priorities, your future and how you will want to look back on these days.
A year from now, you will never, ever say, “I wish I hadn’t gone back to church.”
Let this be the beginning of a new year when you are back and right and satisfied again fully in His love for you...and sharing that love with His family! We have missed that time with you!
You are setting the example for your spouse, for your children, or your grandchildren, and your friends as well. Let this be the year for peace in your heart about all of this. Make the time. Take the time. Set the priority today…
Go. To. Church.
You will be welcomed and you will definitely welcome the love, the hugs, the community, and fellowship of the body of Christ into your regular life – no more saving it for “special occasions.” No more excuses. No more waiting until life settles down and you get caught up on laundry, work, weeds, bills…just go.
You are someone’s LMP- you are definitely my LMP…loved, missed, and prayed for. I hope to see you Sunday.
p.s. You can also, “LMP” “like my post” and share
