Why “Strong and Courageous?” Right at the opening of Joshua the LORD encourages – commands actually! – Joshua to lead with strength and courage and Joshua turns around and speaks this command to the people. Don’t we need this reminder today? Don’t we need to be told and empowered to be strong and courageous too? Yes! This is a challenging world. You have a lot going on in your life that can leave you feeling weak and uncertain, but God. God is the same yesterday as He is today and like He commanded His people then, His command echoes to us today – be strong and courageous!

Joshua is an extraordinary book that tells the story of God’s faithfulness and the courage it takes to walk in His promises. It’s about stepping into the unknown, trusting God in the face of impossible odds, and seeing His power at work. Joshua reminds us that victory comes not by our strength, but by God’s presence and promises.
In this study, we’ll discover what it means to live courageously as we follow God. Along the way, we’ll wrestle with some big questions like: How do I trust God when the path ahead feels overwhelming? What does it look like to live in obedience to His Word? How can I be strong and courageous in a world that challenges my faith? You’re not alone on this journey—we’ll unpack it together, one step at a time.
This study through Joshua will encourage you, challenge you, and help you see how God’s faithfulness in the past gives us strength and courage for the future. Are you ready to take the next step?
As always, I write the Dwelling Richly studies with a desire that we wouldn’t just “do” Bible study but would truly “let the Word of Christ dwell” in us richly. No matter where you are in this season of life, you will find this study will help you grow in your faith and guide you in developing good habits as a maturing follower of Jesus Christ.
