“Give me this mountain!”
At 85 years old, Caleb spoke these words with unwavering faith (Joshua 14:12). He had waited 45 years for the inheritance God had promised him. But even in his old age, he didn’t ask for an easy portion of land—he asked for a mountain, a place still occupied by giants.
Let that sink in.
Caleb didn’t assume that just because God had promised something, it would come effortlessly. He understood a truth that we often forget—God’s promises are certain, but we are called to step forward in faith to claim them.
And that’s exactly what we’ll be diving into in Lesson Five of our Joshua study, “Courage to Claim God’s Promises.”
Faith That Moves Forward
This part of Joshua (chapters 10-14) is where the battles are fought, victories are won, and land is divided. It’s where God fulfills His promises, but not without requiring obedience, perseverance, and courage.
If you’ve ever felt like:
✅ You’re standing on the edge of something but afraid to step forward…
✅ You know God is calling you deeper, but it feels too risky…
✅ You believe His promises, but you’re not sure how to live like they’re real…
Then this study is for you.
What You’ll Discover in This Study
🌟 God Fights for You – In Joshua 10, the sun literally stands still so Israel can win the battle. What if we prayed with the kind of boldness that expects God to move?
🌟 Obedience Precedes Victory – Joshua and Caleb experienced God’s faithfulness because they acted on His Word. What areas of life are we waiting for breakthrough when God is waiting for us to step forward?
🌟 Partial Obedience Leads to Future Struggles – Some enemies were left unconquered (Joshua 13:13), and those very nations caused problems for generations. What do we leave undone in our own lives that could come back later?
🌟 Rest Comes After Trust – Joshua 11:23 says “the land had rest from war.” But it was a rest that came after faith-filled action—not before. True rest doesn’t come from avoiding battles but from trusting God through them.
