How’d I get started? Well, a walnut allergy…
Turns out I’m allergic to walnuts…and that’s a bummer. But you know what’s the biggest bummer? Baklava is almost always made with walnuts! So sad! Well, if you know me, then you know I looooove to cook and bake and have fun in the kitchen, so I decided to learn how to make baklava and to do it with pecans or almonds or pistachios instead of walnuts! And guess what, I did! And it was super delicious! And guess what else? My friends and family loved it too! So, I shipped it, gifted it, and delivered it to all my loved ones and then they shared it with their loved ones and then, well, people came out of the woodwork and asked me for more! So, I came up with my fun little holiday endeavor and I called it, “Better with Baklava!” because, seriously, what isn’t? Everything is better with a side order of my super delicious baklava! You can order some fro yourself right here and now…well, maybe not now, unless now is November 1st through December 31st, because that’s my baklava baking season! Get ’em while their hot and fresh! I’m not going to say that my baklava is life changing…but, I’m not, not going to say that! (Hint: It is!!) You will love it!
My baklava is extra special because I only use honey – there is no refined sugar and definitely no corn syrup, and you’ll never find any weird ingredients or preservatives! It’s very clean and natural!
Flavors:
- Traditional (pecans, honey, cinnamon) – You’ll never want baklava from that Greek restaurant down the street again, and forget ordering it at Costco or something. This batch will forever ruin you for the regular store-bought stuff. “Honestly the best baklava I’ve ever had. Ever.” – Jennifer’s mom.
- Kahlua – you read that correctly! – I make a seriously killer version of my baklava that will make your tongue slap your brains out…it’s that good. Did I mention has Kahlua in it?
- Chocolate – yep. Pecans, honey, cinnamon, and chocolate and none of that cheap chocolate! I use only super fine, imported chocolate! Rich, dark, and decadent – and possibly sinful!
- Macadamia Delight – Macadamia, White Chocolate, Coconut – You will faint. Seriously, this batch comes with a warning label. Eat only when seated so you don’t fall on the floor. It’s. That. Good.
- Almond Joy – Almond, coconut, dark chocolate. You’re done. It’s over. This is a bite that will make you weep with joy and total satisfaction.
