Am I Enough?

It’s a worldly thought to help encourage you when you feel worn down by the expectations of the – well, world. You’re not thin enough, smart enough, pretty enough, tidy enough, rich enough – It’s what advertising is built on. Create a need – you’re not enough. Fill it with a product or just say it “you’re enough!” and …Voila! Now, you’re enough!

But God’s word flips this on its head. And gives us this perfect dose of

Good News/Bad News…
The truth: You’re not enough.
You can’t just put on the right lipstick and suddenly become “enough” any more than you can just put on an “I’m Enough” t-shirt and suddenly become enough.

It’s a lie and the sad thing is it’s not even a new lie. It’s as old as the garden when Satan convinces Eve that she’ll be enough if only she takes that bite.

Stop putting the world’s solutions on to be enough.
You’ll never be enough…but in Christ, he’ll be your enough.
That’s the message of the gospel.

“I came that you might have life and have it abundantly” – I came. I’m enough. Take my enough and wear that!
Admit that you’re not enough…but you have the once and for all sacrifice of the one who was enough and is enough and will be enough covering you!

“when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.” 

If you are in Christ, you are enough – only because there nothing you could have done to be more. What you needed was only made possible if Christ took care of things…and He did. Once and for all.
